Educational Outreach:

Efforts to provide presentations, lectures and inspiration to students of all ages is crucial to the focus of Voyage to the Bay 2006.  The expedition members come from a broad range of experience that includes outdoor educators, professors, elementary teachers, artists and musicians.  The common theme is that all are involved on a daily basis with their local communities as educators and resources.

Specific methods that Voyage to the Bay will use include the following:

bulletPartnership with local schools through developing a curriculum concept that will students to follow the expedition and discover the human and natural history of the regions through which we will be traveling
bulletProviding presentations in classrooms about the expedition, Canada's history, Boreal Forest ecology, outdoor recreation and following your dreams
bulletPost-trip presentations for naturalist clubs, recreation groups, community organizations, historical societies, schools and universities (Presentation Schedule)
bulletWorking with broadcasters such as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that has agreed to cover the expedition via the satellite phone connection
bulletPublication submissions to newspapers, magazines, newsletters and websites
