Philosophical Sponsors

The Prairie Chapters of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (Northern Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) have agreed to join us in celebrating and bringing attention to the Boreal Forest. They are a wealth of information about conservation issues and are a great group of dedicated people to work alongside.  www.cpaws.org

We are delighted to be paddling Wilderness 18's built by Souris River Canoes.  These boats were built with proprietary technology using a kevlar epoxy resin process that creates a stronger, more rigid, and lighter boat.  Be sure to look into a Souris River for your next canoe!
GSI Outdoors creates some of the most functional outdoor cooking and eating equipment available today.  They have been incredibly generous in providing pots, eating utensils and mugs.  One of the most important items is their hard anodized pressure cooker that will allow us to cook our dried beans and lentils more efficiently on our trip.  Take a look at the products on their website.

Ostrom Outdoors is loaning four of their legendary Voyageur Barrel harnesses from their library of equipment for the duration of the expedition.  These harnesses will allow us to transport 60 litre food barrels in comfort.  Following the completion of the trip these items will be returned for study and feedback purposes.
Sleep is an incredibly important component of any expedition.  Design Salt will be providing sleeping bag liners and highly compressible down travel pillows to ensure that we are well rested for each day of travel.  Visit their website for more information about their great products.

Gransfors Bruks produces what many consider to be finest axes in the world.  Handmade by smiths in Sweden, carefully polished and equipped with a quality sheath, these tools will serve us well throughout the expedition.  Many thanks to these generous people in Canada and Sweden for supporting our expedition.
